The Favourite Part of This Trip

... This time we chose the Quality Inn on the by-pass. It was late when we got in as the Atlanta traffic was chock a block. Who knows why?

This Quality Inn was not as nice as the one in Ohio but still satisfactory. We drove to our favourite dinner spot - Margueritas.

Today was approximately 600 miles and the trailer is working well. We have both remarked that sometimes we almost forget that it is there - presumably good news!

We left Ballston Spa on Monday the 8th with a great deal of sadness. After being there for a month we all had a comfortable routine that was difficult to give up. We miss Avery knocking on the door with"it's me Avery", Christopher and his wonderful sense of humor looking very sharp in his football uniform and Emma always stylish rushing off to diving practice. We stopped in VA at the Endless Caverns campground and took the tour of ...

She is leaving to go home early so I'm cramming in 3 weeks of school into 1 week, field trips every day (we bought the city pass and had to use before she left). We also have to pack a year of her belongings and this 9 year old has more clothes than I do! So I am up, just finished packing her luggage. I'll have to ...

Arrived yesterday in the pouring rain. Had spent the day doing general store with grist mill in Helen. Did a great hike to Ruby Falls. Went on to Clayton. Visited the Main St Gallery but the right Folk Art wasn't there - some cute birds and a gourd turkey - but not quite right. Had a dynamite lunch in a new restaurant called Fortify and then headed south. Drove through the pour in rain and arrived at the KOA. Had "lovely" take-out from Wendy's and turned in early. Had ...

... What next?! We made Ocala by 10, felt we were doing well until Oops! A flat on the trailer of a mile from Gainesville. We were cursing our neighbor (he used our jack last), but Bob managed to change the tire and soon we were at Firestone purchasing a new tire. The GA state line appeared by noon; at about the 150mm, a 100-ft. sign read: "I was anti-Obama before it was cool." Sign of the times? Next came a ...
