Hello from Clinton, AR. Some of you may remember Clinton from F4 tornado that killed three people in the 2008 Super Tuesday tornado outbreak in February. The remnants of the devastation caused by tornados are visible around every corner. People still talk about it as if it happened yesterday.

What a great day, woke up this morning at 0630 and had a great breakfast at the Isle of Capri then back to the room packed up and we were off into Arkansas. consider that the road is closed during the winter, which can start
in mid October and not end until June! There was plenty of snow still
laying around up there in late July!
Aside from the high Rockies, it is the large
mammals that are the draw here! The Fall River Valley, on the western slope of
the park, gave us our first moose in a long time! We found this

... concert in the auditorium at 1:15 pm so we walked over and joined a large crowd for an hour long concert played on various types of dulcimers. It was excellent. We also discovered that they have live music in the town square every Saturday night and people from all over join in the jam session. Folk music is alive and well in this area and most people participate in some way. We could have stayed a week and not seen everything.

Didn't get that much sleep this morning because it was too muggy to sleep comfortably and our jump this morning was at 6:30am. Had to be on time for it because our RV (we've named her Idris, by the way, from Doctor Who) was blocking in four trailers. We gassed up (the sticker shock of gassing up a 40 gallon tank is still making me hyperventilate) and made the 40 minute jump to Mountain View.
