Drizzly and hot this morning. I walked around the campground and drove over to the lock and dam. Visitor Center was closed so I couldn't ask my Arkansas River questions. No boats in sight today. Last year came around a corner and hit a round rock which dented my front wheel rim and caused my GPS to fly off. The year came around the corner and there right in the middle of my lane was a Land Turtle exactly the same size as the rock! This time I missed it :-)
Off tomorrow but have not quite decided where too many choices and time is running out.
Again this morning it was raining. Undeterred, I put on my rain gear and proceeded to ride on a 214 mile tour today. The rain stopped within 15 mins and I was more wet inside my rain clothes just from heat and perspiration. Thank heaven for stay dry t-shirts! Was a great riding trip with every kind of curve/hill imaginable. One curve I felt ...
... So as I said the rain came and soaked me. I abandoned my road trip and headed for the caves again. There was another trip I could take. By the time I got to the caverns the rain had stopped so I decided to take a walk around the grounds with Mrs Robinson :-) Pictures attached.
Got on my road trip but the GPS started acting up and I had to find my way bak home (sigh).
Tomorrow road tripping again.
... to stop any spreading of the disease.
I am in a two star motel tonight and hopefully tomorrow I will move into a more rustic Park cabin just for the experience .
Supper tonight was some more fantastic Mexican, no food shots because there was so much and people would start calling me piggy.. After that a walk around the town square listening to a couple of Bluegrass bands play. Nice end to the day.
