    ... people watched whilst we ate, and then afterwards, because we're massive fatties, we headed next door to the sister store, which was an old fashioned sweet shop called Shane Confectionary (one of the oldest candy stores in the US) to purchase some sweeties. We bought bubblegum and...wait for it....chocolate. covered. bacon. YES!

    It sounds gross, but it is divine. We snaffled it back at the hostel, and then fell into a food-induced coma. A good day!

    ... and put a 'sold' tag on it" in a giant menagerie of furniture! But the costumers were having a great time - minus the one lady who fainted and an ambulance was called. I met Gail, the director, who was in the thick of things and who had just opened the store 9 months earlier. The key to its success, she said, was that energetic atmosphere! She and the staff were awesome, one of them also being an NCCC alum! (and she bought the staff and volunteers pizza at the end of the day!) ...

    ... about is the side of Philli that comes out at night, not what you see through the day. Walking through the streets on the way back to the hotel we noticed there is a really large homeless population here. Seems such a contrast for a town that has so many tourists and appears to be wealthy. It was very sad to see, we were literally stepping over people sleeping on streets that had been invisible throughout the day. An interesting side to Philadelphia that I would like to explore ...

    ... always, we are happy to be home and to eventually see ya'll and show you the greats pics of our journey. No we didn't see the southern cross David and we aren't going back but loved, loved Patagonia and the surrounds Mendoza, wine, and enjoyed our excursions outside of the city center, Tigre and La Boca as we usually do.
