... of displays depicting nursery rhyms which Bek found quite disturbing because they were all glow in the dark and a little freaky but the craftmanship to make it was quite inpressive. Ruby Falls is America's highest underground waterfall, about 400m below the surface and almost 150m high. You have to walk through caves to get to see it, and it IS something. It pours out of a hollow above, cascades spectacularly into a pool then runs away underground ...
Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States bekandjesseWe have arrived in Chattanooga and found ourselves a bargain basement priced little wooden cabin to keep us out of the rain and in the warmth, yay! This is just a short entry. This week we will be staying here in Chattanooga checking out the surrounds and making a few day trips to neighbouring states.

We will keep you updated. Lots of Love, the warm, Bek and Jesse Train
Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States bekandjesse... I look in and try to imagine the surgeons with their saws cutting off limbs and how smelly and awful it must have been. But it is hard. I’m sure the wood floor planks have been replaced many times since then. In the end, the Confederates won this battle but eventually lost the campaign for Chattanooga. I never realized how much General Braxton Bragg was disliked and how ineffective he was. Yet we have a Fort named for him.
Chickamauga, Georgia, United States psubrat93... for a touring bike - a lot of ruts and unstable due to gravel. It was a sunny day and the view was spectacular. Dan & Darla had visited the overlook a month earlier and it was an overcast day. This day was clear and the visibility was immense.

We left the overlook and when we reached the end of the gravel road we turned right and turned ...
Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, Tennessee, United States mrpatrickJamie, Zach, and I can now say that we have done what all the barns and bird houses across the southeast has been requesting people to do: See Rock City. Rock City is a Labrinth of rock formations on the highest peak in Tennessee. From one spot we could Kentucky, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, and Tennessee. Zach enjoyed looking at the rocks that loomed overhead and the massive waterfall.
Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States hillaryjoseph... lack of tourist-friendly shops like in the Gettysburg area. We were never able to find a bullet for Bradley. The lack of hotels in the area was also a surprise.

I would definitely like to "study up" more on the battle and then visit the park again sometime in the future.
Chickamauga, Georgia, United States briansalgat... lived. "I wish we'd stayed, in 1945," she told me, wistful-eyed. That was Williamsburg, and Norge; Jamestown, Yorktown, spots we came to love. I see two water tanks atop a hill, and laugh and laugh. On one, in letters big and red, the word is HOT, the other, letters black spell COLD. Happy people, sense of humor too. Ah, there goes my first truck. Speeding, yes. The ground is frosty, still, the hills are gentle, smooth. More cows. You know about short-legged ...

Wander through Terminal Station for more reminders of railroading; it once serviced 48 passenger trains a day. The lobby is gorgeous -- look up -- it has the highest dome of its kind in the world. Don't get too distracted though, the conductor is standing by to punch your ticket. See you there. Terminal Station and Grand Junction Depot, Chattanooga

Final eligibility is decided by a Board of local business sponsors, and $1,000 is awarded to a boy and a girl each year for college. What a deal! Anyone, any age, should start signing up soon for the fall leagues. When the season begins, how-to classes will be scheduled for all who are interested. And the Saturday ...
