PS..Lawrence is located between two
Corp of Engineers Reservoirs, Perry Lake (Delaware River) and Clinton Lake (Wakarusa River) both into the Kansas R. then the Missouri R. We have been to both parks and highly recommend either of the Corp's campgrounds to anyone passing this way.

Kansas City is the heart of Middle America, about as close
to the geographic center of the 48 contiguous states as any major city. I’ve
always viewed it quite positively. I passed through on the highway a few times over
the years and stopped and toured around a little on a fall road trip in 1993,
during which I went to Harry Truman Home National Historical Site and Truman Presidential
Library and Museum in Independence then.
