A quick shopping trip before heading home. I got a pair of pants for 1.99 then with my teachers discount I got 10% off my purchase so ended up not paying for the pants just the capris... gotta love a good deal... headed North to Canada shortly after noon... Great ...

After touring around Bangor for a while I asked a few ladies where to get the best lobster. They gave us great directions! We each got about a two pound live lobster to take back to camp for dinner tonight, then we went to the little outdoor cafe and had two pounds of cooked and pre shelled lobster! Heaven!!!

We drove through Bangor today. No, he didn't stop for lobster. Yes, he will pay for it dearly!
We stopped for a few days in Parks Pond Campground. It's a beautiful little lake with sail boats and paddle boats and a few pontoon boats on it. We have a nice view of the lake. It's even VERY warm water! I really expected cold water up here. What a nice ...

... you read that right, emu racing. The set up was a U-Shaped pen where they corralled 4 emus (with four different colored bandanas) into the starting gates for the race. Though you can't get closer than three feet to the pen, we captured some great photos of the four-month-old prehistoric birds pre-race. Our bet was on red. The race was run three times: the first race generated a winner, the second generated another and the third race was to determine the Grand Winner ...

... up Mt. Battie and climb the rugged, rocky mountain top to where the view gives forth miles and miles of ocean and shoreline with Camden Harbor just below and dense with the presence of boats. Steve says this is his second favorite place in the entire State of Maine. It is easy to understand why.
