Friday was a quiet day, as Lisa and Brian left for a relative's funeral in Cincinnati. I did a bit of sight-seeing, then spent the rest of the day enjoying the quiet. I've not had a day where I wasn't traveling, visiting with people, seeing sights, or whatever in a long time, and it was lovely.
Tomorrow is another long day as I head west to Topeka and a visit with my brother David and his wife, Edie.
... It was nice to have a little browse.
Unfortunately we had just had brekky so we couldn't justify buying the fresh baked goods... the smell made it very tempting!
We went to the movies to see X-men. $8.50... so cheap! The seats in the theatre were so so comfortable! The movie wasn't too bad either. Being a Wed arvo we pretty much had the theatre to ourselves.
Afterwards we played a round of 'Glow in the Dark Mini Golf'. ...
Our complimentary breakfast at the Holiday Inn is really good, it has lots of variety to fuel us up for the day. After brekky we walked to the beginning of the Cultural Trail where we hired some bikes. The weather was forecast to be cloudy with chances of storms in the afternoon so we wanted to get the trail done first and not get wet in the process.
The cultural trail runs around the different districts of the city. The sites we saw along the way ...
... inside me are now eager. I eagerly anticipate what waits for me in this foreign land. I long to see the beauty of the countryside and sit in awe at the mystique that surrounds Machu Picchu. I’m not sure how much connection I will have with internet I’m heading away from civilization just as soon as I can. It is called the world wide web though, so I hope to check in from time to time. ... although all drivers escaped unharmed, the final accident bringing out a red flag to stop the race with 8 laps to go. That decision meant that there were 6 green flag racing laps to the finish and the 200,000 plus crowd were rewarded with the second closest finish in race history with American Ryan Hunter-Reay taking the victory. Dinner was at Lindo Mexico where I ate Chorri-Pollo, a dish of chicken, chorizo, beans, rice and tortillas. Top temperature today was ...
