... price was $250, we came to the conclusion that they looked much better on the shelf! When we looked around the shops in Kalispell, we found a shop that had much more reasonably priced boots, and I was able to find a very nice pair which are now in my possession (an early birthday present - yay!).

... wander down the main street. Whitefish has a large skiing resort nearby, apparently the second best in the country, so the town is well equipped for tourists with plenty of little gift shops. Most were out of my price range, but it was nice to have a look, particularly with all the Christmas decorations out (like mother, like daughter).

Our first wildlife encounter were marmots. After we saw the first one, we started noticing them all over the place.

The 1.5 mile Trail was a mixture of boardwalk, snow, melting snow and dirt. It climbs 500 feet, from an elevation of 6,680 feet at the Visitor Center.

... about 3 cars away from us there were two Bison stood in the middle of the road having a meeting!
