Left El Dorado, Arkansas pretty early and did a big day today - travelled 530 miles - (850 kms) to a city called Chillicothe in Missouri. Tomorrow I will try to get to Moberly which is 82 miles from Chillicothe. Today I rode 75 ...

... discovered that I was in Iowa and there was the Great River Road sign for that side of the river so I decided to follow it down to Hannibal which was to be my next planned stop - Mark Twain. I stopped at Wendys for lunch to check my e-mail to see if I had gotten a time from BMW for fixing my bike. Instead, the person really wanted me to get there today to ensure he was ordering the right parts. So off to St Louis (Breckenridge Hills) ...

... asked me, "You mean I'm related to all these people?" Not in an incredulous way, but in a "this is cool" kind of way. It struck me that he felt a sense of connectedness that only family can provide.

I'm so thankful we made it to the reunion this year! I hope we can come back each year. I think it really is a good thing when family members come together, even if only for a day.
