Crazy adventure! We hiked a mountain!!! It was wild. We hiked up 1,000ft goig up and down..and up and down. We went over creeks and rivers, climbed up steep parts and down steep parts, and walked along steep cliffs. We saw: Mountains, a lot of waterfalls, creeks, rivers, and at the end: a hot spring! Some parts were definitely tough and we worked as a team to get through them. It was an incredible experience! There were awesome views alomg the entire route...simply ...

... the canyon above the river. Sometimes the wind blew them over us and we’d see them drop next to us. Sean later tried to find out what the ants were and discovered that we’d witnessed somewhat of a phenomenon. The "ant fall" happens after heavy rains in the spring. Water running over soft sand, mountains in the background, and the desert in between. Just so much fun. Tate tried stopping the water with his superpowers. We hiked up a dune and watched people sand boarding down ...

... in my old age! The only thing I regret is not having taken pictures for you to see. I think you would be impressed. Oh, one more note in case you have this picture in your mind. Sheeba did NOT get the crate opened. She broke one of the car binders (sp?) and the corner was open about 3 inches and she pushed her way out....the great Houdini Dog!

Tomorrow we are heading for Santa Fe. It should take about 4 hours. ...

Day Eight Morning -- Hot Air Ballooning!

We left our cozy cabin in Hesperus before dawn to drive to Pagosa Springs for a hot air balloon ride with Rocky Mountain Balloon Adventures. We really wanted to do the balloon ride out of Moab over the National Parks, but he was not flying the one morning we were there and the Pagosa Springs location fit our itinerary so we did a 1 ...
