        We enjoyed breakfast at the Alpine Inn where the owner regularly climbs the Wolf Creek pass on his bike. Watch out for the black ice and be prepared for the descent were his watchwords. It was after all 18F at the top. So taking the opportunity for a late start, we leave the hotel at 9 or so for the 30 minute ride to the base of the climb. But not …
