... Alabama Town. This is located within a couple of blocks in the downtown area and we opted to take the self-guided tour rather than wait another half hour for a docent. I can’t see that we would have gained much with a guide because each building had a description or someone inside to give you information. They had told us when we registered the guided tour would take about 2 hours, and guess what? The self-guided one ...

Today I went to Dexter avenue church it was a beautiful church the pastor was Martin Luther King JR it was so inspirational I met a woman named Wanda and we sang we shall over come she was the nicest person I ever met she was also a very and when I say very I mean very good tour guide and she was so touched by ...

... still a church, and Wanda was still a very God fearing woman. She sang us a gospel hymn which we (and two others) were to join her in, thank goodness for Debbie's commitment to it! Wanda talked us through the life story of MLK, the events of his life and of course the famous Rosa Parkes bus story, for which Montgomery became so famous in the history of civil rights. She took us in to the church and let us take photos, talked us through ...

... it would only take two hours, we had thought it would be nearer to three. Our hotel wouldn't let us book in until 3pm so I took a leisurely drive, getting our arrival time down to 2.30. perhaps they would let us in early. As we approached what we thought was Montgomery (the lady had told us we only had 5 minutes until our destination), she told us to make a few directional changes and informed us there was another 50 plus miles to travel. ...
