Eggs...you want some fresh eggs???

... a camper, but a resident of Kanarraville. He lived next door in a trailer with a bunch of chickens. He was busy corralling his rooster around my van when he introduced himself. Yup. Small town. Thought it was best to leave Roxi IN the van at that point. He waved me over to his place once the rooster was lassooed and gave me a half dozen fresh farm egss...technically free range as they walk about the main road just in front ...

... read, though the trail was somewhat boring. It was cute to see Clayton attempting to navigate the rocky trail; we needed to hold his hand. Cleo had a wonderful time climbing the rocks, naming the big ones "mommy rocks, and the bigger ones “daddy rocks". We learned that marble was made from limestone. I bought Great Basin Drama from the bookstore and Cleo got a book about baby desert animals. While on the road the kids, Dolly and grandma all napped ...

... Paunsaugunt Plateau rim above Bryce's Canyon.

In 1920 people were trying to protect the canyon's scenic wonders. In 1923 President Warren G. Harding proclaimed part of the area as Bryce Canyon National Monument under the Powell (now the Dixie) National Forest.

In 1924 legislation was passed to establish the area as Utah National Park, but the provisions of the legislation were not met until 1928. Legislation passed that year changed the name of the ...

... under the tree, there were a few more things from Mummy and Daddy (although the real present was back in Australia). The biggest present is the one that took his fancy - surprise, surprise. The look on his face when he ripped back the paper and saw he had his own Dallas Cowboys helmet and Jersey was priceless. He could hardly wait to try it out - but the weather was saying he would have to wait. One of the ...

... fantastic really. The strange striped spires of Bryce and the smooth sweeping red sandstone of Kodachrome where we lay on the rock at night and all of us appreciated that we had never seen so many stars. There wasn't a space left in the sky. We saw satellites passing by as well as shooting stars and the clearest indication of the Milky Way. This was a night I doubt any of us will ever forget. In the morning we were heading for Lake Powell. Will.

... to post of them above should bring us up to date. (I think I also said that last night, no?) Sorry. To complicate matters, it turns out that this WiFi connection we're accessing here at the hotel will also 'Time You OUT!" so that I have had to do and re-do things a few times. Good thing I've got nothing better to do but sleep. After all, I am on vacation, aren't I? Tomorrow we're going to Bryce Canyon. Sorry if I've misspelled that. Untill next time, Quinn Edit ...

... a blast. These are truly fundamentalist Mormons that still practice polygamy. At this point, the numbers of them that are left is declining every year so the gene pool is getting "shallow" if you understand. Young girls are usually arranged into marriage at 14 (at times it could be to a 2nd. or 3rd. cousin) and the spiritual marriage takes place when she's 16. The husbands have many wives ranging in age from 16 and up. The men work in ...

... from space. Mandalay Bay has created a beach, the only one in Vegas, besides a shark reef. MGM Grand is the largest hotel with over 5000 rooms, a massive casino and as one would expect in a casino, a cage full of lions. The sheer enormity of the Vegas hotels is mind-boggling. But I guess with so many mugs donating to the cause they can spend money. As a distraction from the casinos we took up an offer at MGM to give feedback on new CBS shows. We were taken inside a studio, given fancy ...

... numerous cameras, commentators and computers. Normally watching poker wouldn't be high on my list of things to do but the tension and excitement made it highly watchable. When the pot is worth several hundred thousand dollars a hand you can feel the tension. It is also interesting to watch the styles of the players. Some were quiet. Some were nervous. A couple were trash talking the whole way through like little kids. The crowd would yell out comments ...

Instead, after about a seventy miles or so, we still haven't seen a gas station. I had been given this gadget that would tell us of any service station after inputting the highway you are on and the exit you are near. The next station, according to this gizmo, would be 12 miles ...
