      ... tall glass structures which from what I can see are for show anyway. Flashy. I made my way across an impressive bridge to the SW side. The bridge has two large counterweight sections but I'm not too sure why; there doesn't appear to be any moving parts.       ... and squid. No food envy here...if anything people were envious of us. It was a moment of food euphoria. So pleased we managed to catch up with Eric and have him introduce us to his fav places in Portland. And that was it... the night was over and we bid Eric farewell and headed to our hostel for a well earned rest.

      Winter solstice! Yippee, tomorrow (approximatively) nights will start to become shorter again! And please do not talk about the end of the world, again! Any way I do not care at all, Santa came for me so all is well ;-) My first personal X-mas stocking! Isn't that something!

      Charlene did a lot of wrapping, this is really something here in the USA, people send post packages all over the country! I stick to some letters, written on extra light paper ...

      ... then a good hamburger, then coffee again. I had the time to write 2 letters and read a little bit! What could I ask more!

      Finally I took the commuter train, and Fred and Charlene picked me up at the station in Wilsonville. Aahh, I am so glad to see them again! I have found their beautiful appartment and "my room" again like last year, and I am looking forward to spending some wonderful 10 days here!
