We were pretty pleased to be leaving Provincetown for a bigger city with hopefully some life. On the way down the coast we passed some mental halloween displays outside houses and took a detour to the Cape Cod crisp factory! Loads of free samples so I was happy. Obviously these were really old (and sexist) superstitions but I wonder how many people avoid that gate anyways. We spent the evening in a McDonalds using their wifi and managed to only get a coffee. All too soon it was time to return on the late bus to our B&B in Providence, having experienced a great day in this unique and very beautiful place!
The following day, an organised tour of the Rhode Island hinterland would provide us with another insight into this special part of the US........but that will be the topic of another ...
... something in his hand but it sure didn't look like the sway bar! Seems there are a lot of treasures to be found on the side of the highways. He did have the sway bar with a few bumps, but it was wrapped in a black and white zebra patterned bra. We fixed the bar, attached it, the bra wasn't my size so disposed of it, and we were back on the road to Boston.
Ended the day with quiet reading in thunderstorms.
... Mansion which is the summer estate of Cornelius Vanderbilt II. You couldn't take any pictures inside but we did take some on the outside. It is the largest estate on the island and was very palatial.
Tomorrow we are taking the train into Boston.
