    ... Lake in Cypress National Preserve next to Everglades National Park. There are no services (water, electric or sewer) but we are so happy to be out in the wilderness with no major road or train nearby! An alligator would come to sit in the sun on a patch of grass just in front of our campsite. Night, night, sleep tight, mind the alligators don't bite!!

All those swamp people type tv shows that now dominate Australian TV only talk about alligators, and I wouldn't think you'd want to be in the water with an alligator like they are if there's a chance there's a crocodile in there too. But this crocodile was not what I was expecting. It was like a large freshy back home. The guide explained how rare they were.     ... of the Everglades. There were tourist spots every mile or so offering Alligator shows and fan boat rides. I guess it was too late in the afternoon for these as they were empty. Deserted. Maybe it was too early in the season for these attractions to even be manned. There was a lot of water out here.
