... Lake in Cypress National Preserve next to Everglades National Park. There are no services (water, electric or sewer) but we are so happy to be out in the wilderness with no major road or train nearby! An alligator would come to sit in the sun on a patch of grass just in front of our campsite. Night, night, sleep tight, mind the alligators don't bite!!

not religiously updated my blog for some time... Hopefully, the
pictures will help describe some of my adventures during ...

Saturday 8th March we set off for our first holiday since arriving in NY. After all the winter storms we have been encountering we decided a top up of vitamin D was very much needed so headed to the "sunshine state" aka Florida. First stop was Miami and annoyingly we couldn't get Will Smith’s “Miami” song out of our heads the whole way there. You know when you have arrived on holiday when you walk off ...

In the afternoon we kayaked though a mangrove swamp and soon encountered a 7 foot alligator. It was lying in wait, but our guide (Jeremy) paddled over to it and slammed his paddle on the water. This provoked the 'gator to slide off into the lake.
