... it is going to take us an additional 7 hours more than if we go interstate. Right - regroup, evaluate, analyse and decide. Interstate it is! Let see how close we can get to Chicago. On the I-65N we encountered a lot of road construction which delayed us somewhat but thankfully, not a great deal of rain. It threatened but as soon as we stopped and put on the rain gear, it stopped! Isn't that always the way? Well anyway, we didn't get ...

... to charge the soul. We eventually come upon Cumberland Falls which is actually a resort that has been created round the falls. If one wanted to make a long weekend of it, one could book a cabin in the forest and do some hiking in the forest. Anyways, we didn't come for the hiking. Yesterday we departed Utica, IL about 9:30. The GPS stated Springfield area ETA as 12:45. We had to slow our drive as most places you can't check in until after 1. As we were driving ...

Up before the crack if dawn...4am to be exact. 21 minutes later we were on the road! Yay! No one slept in the car, boo. By 6:30 we were in Iowa. Coolest rest stop ever. Not only was it in a barn, there were two tiny barns upstairs. I would like to take a moment to wish my Nona a very happy birthday, we love you and are thinking about you! Cedar Rapids, I liked the look of you. We had a quick stop in Hannibal, MO. We ...
