        ... actually didn't have a room. She told us that they had a 2nd hostel where they booked us and we could go there...which of course was a ways back across the city. Annoyed Daniel and I got on the subway and set off to find our new spot. When we got there they told us they too were fully booked and I was going to have to stay in an all male dorm room, otherwise they would have nothing for me. Seemingly I usually get along better with dudes anyways ...

        ... the hop on hop off bus and completed the circuit so saw all the sights and will go again tomorrow. We are out to dinner soon with the New York couple Alex and Julia we met on the cruise. Taxied to the restaurant and met Alex and Julia and had the most beautiful 5 course meal one could imagine.         ... that were built back when Roman society was still pagan to reach up toward the gods. When Christianity took over, each obelisk was capped with metal and a cross to keep evil pagan spirits and demons from coming out. We also accidentally crashed a weird church service at a beautiful church next to the Pantheon, ate the most amazing cannoli in the whole world, and ended up at some sort of concert in a piazza.         ... looking people who seem to pass the day by staring at the tourist at best, picking their pockets or predatorily 'selling' something to the passerby. The worst are the (insert bad name here) who predate on the tourist who i trying to obtain a simple train ticket from the ticket machines at the central train station called termini. They hope that by 'helping' you to the right ticket that they can then pick your pockets. There are dozens of these characters here ...
