on one of our next few days we headed to singapore zoo. It's a rainforest zoo so all kinds of everything awaits you. Have to say my favourites were the baboons! The red asses are just hilarious! we got quite close to some orang utans too which was very cool and got a little too close to a lemur. He was walking along the bar of the viewing dock and let out an outrageous roar, i nearly weed ...

Singapore, Singapore ctompkins11... others fur! Little otters fought with each other! A wierd animal that looked like both a deer and a mouse at once hopped about! There were many caves and rooms where you could be right in the action with giant bats hanging and swooping just overhead and enormous reptiles scurrying around beside you. The snakes were fed cute, white mice at feeding time! A white tiger stalked up and down in a river, another sat happily ...
Little India Singapore, Singapore lucy_and_adele... hilft. Place to be: Singapore Zoo / Bugis Junction / Hafen
Singapore, Singapore vera_und_alex... great food ranging form street meat to superb five star restaurants. If it is one thing Singapore has besides shopping malls, a very safe and clean city, its great food and expensive booze. Well..... coming from Las Vegas, the booze is cheaper then what I am used to paying but still relatively expensive for SE Asia.

Singapore, Singapore pille... a bus to the night zoo. Had Bongo Burgers for tea while we waited for the zoo to open. Queued for the 'creatures of the night' show -- otters, owls, python, cats. Very good and full. Then did a 45 minute train ride through the zoo and saw elephants, rhinos, giraffes, lions, tigers and a host of others. Caught the bus and train back, and walked home.
Singapore, Singapore gregd999... is a bit of a building site at the moment but we did manage a swim - fortunately it was overcast as sunbathing at these latitudes is not a good idea for those of us at the lighter end of the spectrum. The haze turns out to be from the fires in Sumatra but the Straits Times says air quality in Singapore should stay ok. We're going back in the next day or so for another swim, a Laser fountain show and to admire the Merlion, the 8-storey protector of Singapore.
