... at all - Zhuhai is a lovely little place (a mere 1.4 million people so it actually feels small) and although I didn't see as much as I had intended to thanks to the rain, I loved what I saw!

I took a bus journey along a winding road up to Victoria Peak on Hong Kong Island. ... of waiting in line I knew I'd made a big mistake. The Subway was all but frozen, choked with passengers. I asked a few people if it was normal and they replied "Yes, but never this bad". Fan-bloody-tastic... I'd managed to pick the single worse day ever to use the subway. I tried to beg, borrow or steal a phone from someone else to call Lei with - but all of our communication had been via internet, not phone. We had not shared phone numbers yet!
One hour late...
I slept really well for three hours, woke for three and then slept again for another four until after 8am so I should have felt great but of course I didn't. The bed was comfortable, but the room too cold and over-airconditioned, and there was nothing I could do about it. I got up and had breakfast in the hotel cafe - after last night's buffet in the same venue I was expecting a good one, and it was okay but nothing special. Rather a lot of that sort ...
... so I decided to get to it and start sight seeing after checking in to my hostel. The staff recommended what turned out to be an excellent dim sum restaurant nearby for lunch. I sat at a community table with a few old Chinese ladies. I had no idea how or what to order, but picked a few things and went for it. The food was awesome but I inadvertently ordered way too much. It worked out alright though since I was able to share it with the kind ladies at the table. ...
