Obersaxen, Switzerland acgwhale... familiar green Series Land Rover travelling in the opposite direction. It was Gaz and Charlotte in the Lean Green Recycled macnine!! Of course we stopped and turned round, and they did the same.

We were wondering why on earth they were on that road, but we soon found out they were on the way back towards Calais. The night before, things had proved too much for their motor, and they had problems ...
Landquart, Switzerland dirtyweekenders... found a spot. Touris tat and postcards were the first stop. Luckily the little kiosk took Euros - we hadn't thought of that! But he didn't sell stamps, and directed us towards the post office. They took Euro notes, but gave change in Swiss francs, which seemed a bit odd. Anyway, no choice, so the cards got posted. At ast we were back on track.
The way back to the car park ...
Vaduz, Vaduz, Liechtenstein dirtyweekenders... get on the bus I watched southern Liechtenstein roll past on the way to Vaduz. Cute villages with quaint houses, cows grazing in green pastures, and a castle sitting on a high hill surrounded by vineyards.

Vaduz is a very nice city. The royal residence, a castle of course, sits on a high cliff directly above the city centre. The main street is a pedestrian street with shops and restaurants, museums, the tourist office, the ...
Vaduz, Liechtenstein travelingdiva... by the family, so closed to the public, and it was covered in scaffolding. Back down the mountain we went. I can't say as there is much to do in Vaduz, actually, but we wandered. Found a pasture of goats along the way, tried to find a hardware store where we could buy cow bells (authentic, not the touristy ones), with no luck. There was a postage stamp museum, as well as a really neat government building (called the diat, not the building, the group of ...
Vaduz, Liechtenstein elizabessieAfter our day off we next went by train down along the Rhine Valley past the Canton of Appenzelle and the Finance Capital, Vaduz in Leichenstein. Vaduz and the Principality lies high on the side of the mountain which forms the border with Austria. Apart from the distant mountains this part of our journeys was I should say the least striking in scenic wonderment!!
Vaduz, Vaduz, Liechtenstein ankorjuglor... very symetrical and therefore looking friendly to each other. Unlike the over crammed Victoriana that befalls most big city burial places in the UK. Each headstone in this neat place designed and carved by the most impressive sculptors. Nothing shoddy! No stucco angels! Each design suiting the background of its interred owner/s. Each burial piece planted up with a beautiful blanket of 'annuals'. Not to be missed by the casual visitor.
Chur, Graubünden, Switzerland ankorjuglorOn our return from Poschiavo to Chur the train took the alternative route via St Moritz. A very short stop, enough to allow us to stretch our legs beside the picturesque Lake Engadine. This lake is famous for its winter Polo and Horse Racing. Quite a spectacle for winter visitors ...
St. Moritz, Graubünden, Switzerland ankorjuglor... We traveled on some of the windingest roads you can imagine. Just when you thought you’d reached the valley, you would make a turn and go down some more. The scenery is so spectacular that the group is exceptionally quiet. They have to be awestruck. I know I am. The terrain returning from St. Moritz is very rocky. Wherever there is vegetation, there are cows. What a day! This was the most spectacular scenery I have ever seen. I will never be able to put into words what I ...
St. Moritz, Swiss Alps, Switzerland pemalak... I am still tired! I didn’t want to drag my butt out of bed or out of the shower, once I got in. This jet lag really has me whupped. Finally, we struggled down to breakfast around 7:30 am. Breakfast was pretty much the same here as we had in Austria...cold cuts, cheeses, rolls, jams, breads, yogurt, and cereal. After breakfast, we went back up to the room to get ready for our walk and while we were up there, we could hear the church bells ringing through the valley ...
