... the most intricate one requires more than 300 manipulations to open! By the time we finished shopping, it has started to rain. We adjusted our plans and visited a private museum (there are hundreds of them around the country) with a great view of the lake. Mt Fuji unfortunately was behind rain clouds. The most amazing displays were the collection of kaleidoscopes and Chinese jade and ivory carvings. Some nice modern Japanese art as well.

... we are, we are now kind if southeast of Mount Fuji and are going west, direction of Gotemba. This rest area has a completely new bathroom building with very fancy restrooms. Of course all Toto washlets and special restrooms for the kids. Before entering the restroom area there is an electronic panel on the wall indicating which restrooms are vacant and which ones are occupied. How fancy can it get?! We have done another bullet train today and travelled nearer to Tokyo. This afternoon we had some scrummy tempura for lunch and then went on the cruise ship around the lake.
