We have decided to change it up a little and not stay in a hotel. ... and curtains of silk were recreated, floors were refinished and recreated, Roccocco plaster mouldings were restored or recreated- the work was extensive but the effect is beautiful. I visited in the early 2000's (I can't remember the exact year) but more has been restored since then. An entire wing has been recently been restored with grants from the EU and named in honour of the two older children, Gisella and Rudolph, as they most likely used these rooms ...

... area which has a reputation of being like soho with cafés and bars. I couldn't get into the room so left my pack and set off to explore. I felt like I was back in London cycling through Greek street or Boomsbury but without the black cabs. There are a few cycle lanes on the roads but most of them are shared on the wide sidewalks. ... messy and not at all the style of the women of Budapest! However, thanks to Budapest water, it is shinny and soft (and it is very good to drink!) Sisi on the other hand had ankle length hair and used a special concoction of eggs and cognac to wash her hair. Plus it took her handmaids several hours to wash it. She should have just used the Hungarian water when she was at the Godollo Royal Palace!
