... and curtains of silk were recreated, floors were refinished and recreated, Roccocco plaster mouldings were restored or recreated- the work was extensive but the effect is beautiful. I visited in the early 2000's (I can't remember the exact year) but more has been restored since then. ... messy and not at all the style of the women of Budapest! However, thanks to Budapest water, it is shinny and soft (and it is very good to drink!) Sisi on the other hand had ankle length hair and used a special concoction of eggs and cognac to wash her hair. Plus it took her handmaids several hours to wash it. She should have just used the Hungarian water when she was at the Godollo Royal Palace!
