The next day we drove to a beautiful summer house lent to us by a family friend of Gabor, and we spent the remainder of the week sleeping in, swimming in the lake,

... This evening, we went down to Balatonfured to take in a wine festival filled with wine, beer, and food. We tried some sugared bread, and also a slice of what Thomas told us was Onion Bread. It was actually bread with lard and onions on it. I had a bit of a shock when I learned it was lard because it was dark out and it looked like cheese to me, but I ate it all and it was pretty good! I don't think I'll have another one anytime soon though.

The Cabin and Karad
... city 1,000 years old and took a few pictures. We also stopped near the Balaton to have a look around and check out Tiheny Abbey. This was a lovely area with some great views.
At Eva's mother's (Elizabeth), we were fed squash soup, fried pork, scalloped potatoes and fresh bread, and dessert of plum cake.
People keep telling me I look like i'm in my 20's, so it's possible I may end up staying here instead of going home on the 24th!

We lazed at the beach all afternoon. Of course there was no sand so
we lay on the grass. Totes better than rocks. It was the first time I've
ever had to pay for a beach. The idea of privately owned beaches is
just so repulsive to New Zealanders, but when in Europe one must do as
the Europeans do.

Es stellt sich heraus, dass Magenta auch nach Revfueloep will und im selben Hostel unterkommt. Wir goennen uns nach Ankunft direkt mal einen halben Tag am BEZAHLTEN Privatstrand (wie es scheint kriegt man am Balaton nix geschenkt) um in der Sonne zu brutzeln und uns immer wieder im badewannenwarmen wasser "abzukuehlen". Nach einer schnellen Dusche treffen wir uns alle wieder ...
