Layed Back

Another beautiful day. Sunny 78 degrees on the island of Rhodes. We travel to Lindos half way down the island. To see the Acropolis were Paul spoke to the Greeks. A long climb to the top with a view to forever. Just outstanding. Back to the boat early to catch some sun by the pool.

I am going to upload a couple of pics from yesterday on Myconos to give you an idea of the beauty here.

Day trip to Rodos

... recommened a place from a local, which turned out to be ok. Honestly, we've had better Mousakka in San Francisco, but the Greek Salad is pretty amazing. Who knew Cucumbers, tomatos, feta and olive oil could taste so good? We've tried to make our own using exactly the same ingredients, but somehow they manage to do it better.
Now we're off to the one-and-only Santorini!

Having a great time in Rhodes

... built in the 1300's we wanna stay. Foula's looking for a place for us! :) It's like something you would think Disney made but it's REAL!! We spent 2 days in Athens with Georgia in her apt. went on a day trip to Cape Sunyo. Spent yesterday on the beach. Back to the beach today not sure what we'll be doing the rest of the week. We decide when we wake up. Gotta go miss you all . More soon... :) will send pictures soon.

Just beautiful

... of little alleyways again and you realized that you had come back to where you started. It was fun and we spent about 4 hours in there and then walked back to the ship. Had a late lunch on the ship and went to our cabin to have our afternoon siesta and watched Get Smart on tv. We decided to have a day off the grog so watched the ship leave from deck 7 and headed to the Casino for a short time and then came home.

A nice little break on a long journey.

After a quick breakfast, we headed off to the port to catch our 9am ferry to Rhodes, but it looked like everyone else in Fethiye had the same idea. The boat was full of those annoying package holiday makers on a day trip to Rhodes.

After a rough ride, we bought our tickets to Athens (Rhodes to Athens €53 each, one way) and had the whole day to spend in Rhodes before our next ferry departed.

Rhodes was famous worldwide in the ancient world for the Colossus of Rhodes ...

I Miss Mykonos

... y Bday. We went to this lovely beach during the day and then again with our Canadians went to this sunset party at a bar which was up the top of this hill ( and yes we had to hike up). It was amazing, the view was just beautiful and you watched as the sun set into the water. As soon as the sun went down there a drag show and go go boy dancing. It was so much fun, although I do think we were nearly the only girls up there ( real ones at least) they were all gay and ...

Monasteries

... I am particularly fascinated with the greek army uniforms with the tights and pom-poms!! It just doesn´t fit with the male image of the greek adonis!!! We visited two other monasteries - Varlaam and Aghia Trias. They did not contain such wonderful icons but were special for the view and the entry steps which were very steep and often narrow and cut out of rock. However, I was ...

Colossal Rhodes...get it?

Next we were onto Rhodes, one of the most historically significant Greek Isles. We saw the medieval old town, the Acropolis (yes, Rhodes has one too), and the site where the Colossus of Rhodes presumably stood in ancient times. We also got in a little beach time and visited a neat pottery factory.

Goodbye Europe

... Desperate for a shower, we rapped loudly on a door that was the one, in our opinion, most likely to contain the proprietor. We guessed that he was likely to be called Billy. After all the pension is called 'Billy's Pansion'.

After a few knocks we heard the sound a baby crying. Then a female voice and a male voice whispering urgently. Hoiking and spitting noises ensued and presently the door opened and a tattooed young man stared at us with bleary eyes. He said his name was ...
