    A Very Pleasant Surprise

We arrived in Senggigi via boat from Denpasar, quite unprepared for what to expect, as we had not had the time or energy to do the usual research on the new destination in our travels. As such, we found ourselves hiring a taxi to help us locate a place. After checking out three different hotels, we settled on Sunset House. Excellent choice.

Beautiful garden and beach front settings - your choice, to accommodate your budget. We chose a room with a garden rather than a sea view, as it suited our budget. The room is huge, beautifully decorated in very modern decor, meticulously clean, and has a large balcony overlooking a beautiful garden, hillside view, and jungle scape, which you can take in as well from the wall to wall French doors that open on to the balcony.

The room price includes an excellent full buffet breakfast, which makes it an even better deal. The restaurant is open until 11 pm, and serves a variety of dishes. The hotel grounds on the seaview side are also beautiful, with a stellar pool overlooking the ocean, comfortable poolside furniture, and a number of large gazebos for lounging.

The hotel staff were very friendly, and the service excellent. We expect to be back in Senggigi in a couple of weeks, and will definitely be staying here again.

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 36 in the garden and liked it a lot, but the seaview rooms are also very nice, if your budget allows it, as they are considerably more expensive, but still reasonable for what you are getting.

The location was nice, a little over an hour from the airport but within walking distance to the shops and lots of restaurants. The staff was incredibly helpful and the view was great. be prepared for everyone coming onto the grounds to try and sell their products and services though. It would have been nicer if they had restricted their access to approach us while having breakfast...

    Peaceful, Clean, and Friendly Staff

We stayed here for one night during the low season and had a very relaxing time. The room was clean and the fascilities are the nicest we have stayed in for several weeks despite the affordable price. We paid a little over $30 US which is a good deal if you are traveling as a couple. The bed and linens are very nice compared to equivalent accomodations we have experienced in Bali, Gili Air, and Lombok.

The Sunset House shares the beach with only a few other accomodations and we had it mostly to ourselves. The sun sets over the water so it truly is great for sunsests. When the sky is clear you can see the volcano on Bali.

The staff is very friendly and they have great internet access.

We arrived on the island which has no motorised transport and walked down a dirt road to the bungalow we'd be staying in. The place ...

We've been talking about this one for ages, and I am so glad to say that it has not disappointed one little bit! In fact it has exceeded our expectations! So we jumped off the boat about midday, had a little paddle to beach where our bags were carrie off by human conveyer belt. Then got bombarded by people asking if we needed a hotel; was crazy!!!! After checking the map which we were told had every hotel on it on the island ...

I have only surfed DonDon and Inside which are both very predictable with an easy drop and options both left or right (Inside is mainly a right). High tide seems to have a bigger size and DonDon gets too shallow at low tide. The first ...

... make wasn't actually that cheap at all - surprise surprise ! Bloody useless ! So by 2 o'clock Esta had to get a taxi into Senggigi as she's going to Bali today and me and Anna waited on the side of the road for one of Lombok's public cars which apparently take you anywhere for really low prices. We were standing and waiting for absolutely ages and of course it started raining, all the days in our entire trip it could have poured with rain and the world decided it must be when ...

... and she can hardly walk, mine are alright but Nat was in so much agony that when we got to Bali our taxi driver took us to see a witch doctor who put some weird hot ginger press over Nat's legs which were also sunburnt pretty badly, so she want sure if the pain was from sunburn or muscle tension. He then bandaged her up, so she looks hilarious. I got her a wheelchair at the airport- which she was not too amused by ...
