Rhodes, Dodecanese, Greece ronamaltz... through - houses and business - were flat-roofed, and most of the hills/mountains I saw looked plateaued as well.
The weather was amazing while I was on Rhodes and the last day was absolutely magnificent. I went crazy with my camera and sat for quite a while watching the pinks and blues in the sky, and the silvery shimmer on the water until the day slowly disappeared.
I found the locals wonderfully friendly and eager to please any tourist who ...
... ancient heritage, a mix of Greek, Roman and Moorish architecture and artifacts, but romantically promoting its more recent past (1200 to 1600) as home the knights.
The samll museum was a fabulous surprise. It was housed in an enormous old ancient villa that had been converted into the hospital for the knights. You had to pay to enter the mud baths, even if you didn't go in and I have to admit (at the risk of sounding a snob - after visiting the blue lagoon (Iceland) there was no way I getting in the water/mud here!! I was really overdue my holidays, finally getting to take it in October and I just signed up to two weeks of not doing much in Turkey with a couple of friends in a group. For me though not doing much isn't my cup of tea so I took every chance to re-live my old Turkey memories, from food, sights, sea, dancing and ahem, yes the men, again :)
Please come back soon as I update all the stories from the two weeks. Thanks.

I am going to upload a couple of pics from yesterday on Myconos to give you an idea of the beauty here.

Who knew Cucumbers, tomatos, feta and olive oil could taste so good? We've tried to make our own using exactly the same ingredients, but somehow they manage to do it better.
Now we're off to the one-and-only Santorini!
... in the closed duty-free shop amidst glass-encased butterflies and was relieved to see that Rhodes Town is on the northern tip of the island. I knew we were going to dock here and I also knew that Turkish day trips ran to the northern coast.
Sleek Mercedes taxis cruised the Commercial Dock as we descended from the boat. We were hungry and we had to find a boat to take us across the water to Asia Minor. I knew that we had missed the daily hydrofoil because I had seen it from ...
