Very touristy

... drinks and a bbq. He finally dripped us off in the 'girlie bar' area of town - very interesting to see the ladyboys - so glamorous!!

3rd December - had a lazy day just chewcking out the town and relaxing. Found live music in the evening (not the best) in an (yes you've guessed it) Irish Bar!!

4th December - Paul picked us up again and took us to see the 'mansion' that he is having build - very impressive ...

Paradise Found....

... air-con, to be unceremoniously chucked off the bus at 6am, where we were told that everyone was changing onto minibuses to all their various destinations - so, one by one the minibuses arrived, that one taking the youngsters off to Ko Pha Ngan for the Full Moon Party, that one taking the old folk to Satun, in the South, and so on, until it was just me and 2 other English lads left, we waited over two and a half hours till our bus turned up.

That journey ...

Elephants, ATVs, and Rock Climbing

... which was not bad for a free tour lunch but not great. Afterward, we boarded buses and headed to what I decided was a Thai theme park. The park was home to an elephant ride, ATV course, buffalo ride, elephant show, monkey show, and rubber plantation. Basically, its a tourist trap created purely for foreigners. We started with the ATVs, which was slightly disappointing because we had to follow one of the staff through the jungle course and couldn't go very fast. I'd never been on an ...

Yet another flight...

... br>
After a bit of roaming, Edgardo and I took a cab to the airport. We came a bit early though because our flight showed up an hour late. Oddly enough, our plane even landed late due to some problem with the landing lights. We had to fly in circles over Krabi for a half hour before we could finally land.

We stayed at this place called the Good Dream Guesthouse which only costed us $3 per ...

En route....

We missed our 10:30am boat to Krabi, so had to wait until 2pm...arrived in Krabi at 4pm, and we wanted to take the government bus (non-tourist) to Surat Thani, but we were denied...!

After a few hours, we arrived in Surat Thani, with no option but to take the cargo boat (night boat) to Koh Samui. This didn't leave until 11pm...

Back to Bangkok

... con, plus it was 16 and a half hours long!!! Then we drove to Morning Mist Resort near to Khao Sok National Park which was utterly beautiful. We loved it there and the food was amazing!! That day we did tubing (rubber rings) down a river. For some reason, Amy shot off in the distance, and Emma's refused to move. Was a very funny activity! The next day we went to Monkey Temple and saw lots of monkeys, which were so gorgeous, and we saw a baby one, that was less than a ...

... rough so it was a bit of a bumpy ride and quite scary (especially because we were sat at the front of the boat!) We went to the Viking caves which contain swallows eggs, which are thought to be very good for you and cost about 1200 pounds a kilo! (Should be good for that price!) People live in the caves all year round to protect the nests. Next we went to Maya Bay where The Beach was filmed which was stunning, but spoilt a little by the amount of tourists there. After that we ...

... from Europe via Eastern Europe, Russia, Mongolia and China! Everyone was really friendly. I managed to get the room discounted to 250B. The beach had only one computer with internet (mobile internet... very slow) which was down the first day. On my second day I booked a boat to Koh Lanta, everyone went to bed early that night so I did too as I had to be up early for the boat.

Back to civilisation

Day 1, Arrived at lunchtime after a minivan transfer fron Ao Nang. Straight into room at KR Mansion and down into town. Mooched about and had a pukka chinese lunch for a couple of quid. Tried to sort the visa situation at the immigration office but no luck so decided we're off to Burma tomorrow. We would have to pay 38 quid ...

... with sandy white beach and very nice swimming, also had a neat rock island right off the beach. Our last stop was Pranang Cave, a partially submerged natural rock cave that at one point is completely pitch dark. Our boat guide was a very funny Thai local who was cracking jokes during our whole trip while keeping everyone on a very strict schedule.
