Galle, a town of many sensations
... of the harbor in 1663. It looks like a medieval town with narrow passageways and streets, slowly decaying buildings, ramparts, and all the stuff a fort would have in-the-day are included in a cool dusty museum. There's a Dutch Reform Church, a mosque, a Hindu temple and a dagoba, a Buddhist place of worship and probably others we did not notice. Gem Shops, Touts and Crappy Museums
... because I had an innocent and trusting face but I think it’s really because I look like a complete idiot most of the time- I’m either completely lost or tripping over something.

So- Galle was fun but we were very happy to head back to our hotel in Unawatuna at the end of the day, for some peace and quiet at Nooit Gedacht!

... flocked to us...trying to sell us things, wanted to bring us to spice stores or souvenir shops. One tuk tuk driver started walking with us, wanting us to go into a bunch of stores. He walked for over a kilometer with us! We couldn't lose him. He couldn't get a tuk tuk fare, since it's the off season, so he decided to walk with us instead...and try to claim the commission on anything we bought...by saying he brought us there! hahaha. ... The Canadians offered to give me a ride in to Galle as they were heading the same way, so I took the opportunity and I'm glad I did as not only did they take me in to Galle they also found the house I'm staying at which I tell you is not easy when all signs are written in Sri Lankan.
