bittersweet times as we touch the bases on our last two days here. Sunday we drove south to Gennadi, our favorite pebble beach, for a long swim and fish lunch just before the wind came up. Then off to the hills: visited the village of Asklepion for coffee and a church tour with our airport cab driver, Manoli (Mike) Hatz, one of many second-generation Greek-Canadians who have moved back to this lovely village. From there, we took a gravel ...

Mary, Shelley & Dan arrived in Lindos Friday afternoon and settled into Mary's beautiful home, aka The Museum. After a slow morning regrouping from our road trip, we headed to the main beach, which is paved with sun beds all summer but comparatively deserted now. Settling into Rosanna's Italian beach taverna, we ordered, had a swim, ate a delicious lunch of seafood risotto and fresh fish, and swam again. The aquamarine sea was clear and warm. Just too dolce for words. ...

We enjoyed some lovely local wine and seafood before we returned to our hotel by taxi. Now everyone else is swimming or napping while I write this blog.

Tonight we dine with our group at 8 pm and tomorrow we will return via ferry to Turkey to continue our adventures. I promise to write more in the next few days.

In the meantime, here are a few photos. I hope you enjoy them.

We clambered in their 7 seater and they drove up into the depths of Rhodes and up Gulf montain to a place called Filerimoss (This is how it sounds no idea how it's spelt) where there is a memorial from their war with Portugal and now stands as a kind of hilltop nature spot with amazing views.
The family knew I dabbled in an instrument or two and when we got back there was instruments everywhere in their house. ...

... dinner and heading for sea it got a bit rough and the ship rocked and rolled a bit, not too much, but enough that at one stage 30 stacked good clean dinner plates slid off the servery next to where we were sitting, and smashed on the floor! Sufak, our waiter, yelled to another waiter, who was near the servery, to prevent a second pile sliding to devastation! ...
