Sunrise Rhodes Lindos

Another beautiful day. Sunny 78 degrees on the island of Rhodes. We travel to Lindos half way down the island. To see the Acropolis were Paul spoke to the Greeks. A long climb to the top with a view to forever. Just outstanding. Back to the boat early to catch some sun by the pool.

I am going to upload a couple of pics from yesterday on Myconos to give you an idea of the beauty here.

Hi Everybody !- We are having a great time! So far EVERYTHING has been perfect flights weather people food!!! The food is beyond wonderful!!! What a difference a day makes. This place is absolutely beautiful. There are still lots of walls and castles that have been here for thousands of years, but it is nice and clean and friendly. We walked into the walled city and saw heaps more shops with locally made things and also lots of touristy rubbish, but no-one was hassling us to buy and we could just wander around looking and not fighting people off ...

... our day over it was time to catch our ferry to Athens. On our budget we chose the cheapest ticket available. Which means "Deck." But unfortunately for us what we didn't realise was that this means it is the only place on board were you can smoke. So the rest of the night with the lights on and us trying to get a nights sleep on our hard plastic benches, we breathed in the refreshing air of smoke. Shona has now got a smokers cough.

This is going to be a tough couple of days.

Thursday, Sammy and I went to this very exclusive beach with our Canadian friends called psaru ( i know that's not how u spell it).

You couldn't even get a beach lounge if you paid them but was amazing to see, beautiful people and amazing bodies!

On the way we saw a bike accident and thought twice about if we wanted to get back on our bike. We did however go and get bike helmets.

Friday we started celebrating ...

... after our early start to the day. We spent Monday exploring the famous monasteries, by catching a bus to Meteora which is the one furtherst from the town and then walking back to town. I found the first monastery - Metamorphosis, perched on a huge rock unbelievable - firstly because of the view but also because of the amazing museum with books from the 12 Century and military ...

Next we were onto Rhodes, one of the most historically significant Greek Isles. We saw the medieval old town, the Acropolis (yes, Rhodes has one too), and the site where the Colossus of Rhodes presumably stood in ancient times. We also got in a little beach time and visited a neat pottery factory.

... around. I walked down a narrow passageway to a cosy courtyard. Some of the doors to the rooms were open and I looked in. I coughed but nobody stirred. I stomped up some crooked stone stairs and found a small roof terrace with views of the cobbled street, and at the end of the street a thin patch of blue sea below the mountains of Western Turkey. The ambience was just right. I made up my mind that we were staying here.
