Sunrise Rhodes Lindos

Another beautiful day. Sunny 78 degrees on the island of Rhodes. We travel to Lindos half way down the island. To see the Acropolis were Paul spoke to the Greeks. A long climb to the top with a view to forever. Just outstanding. Back to the boat early to catch some sun by the pool.<br><br>I am going to upload a couple of pics from yesterday on Myconos to give you an idea of the beauty here.<br><br>Davo and Janet

... all we could of the castle, we ventured outside the walls to go check out some ancient ruins. On the map, there was a big green park with some old ruins labeled, and it didn't look too far away. What the map didn't show was that it was uphill, hard to find, and when we got there it wasn't a park at all, but just an ancient stadium and some old columns surrounded by ...

... built in the 1300's we wanna stay. Foula's looking for a place for us! :) It's like something you would think Disney made but it's REAL!! We spent 2 days in Athens with Georgia in her apt. went on a day trip to Cape Sunyo. Spent yesterday on the beach. Back to the beach today not sure what we'll be doing the rest of the week. We decide when we wake up. Gotta go miss you all . More soon... :) will send pictures soon.<br>

... of little alleyways again and you realized that you had come back to where you started. It was fun and we spent about 4 hours in there and then walked back to the ship. Had a late lunch on the ship and went to our cabin to have our afternoon siesta and watched Get Smart on tv. We decided to have a day off the grog so watched the ship leave from deck 7 and headed to the Casino for a short time and then came home.

After a quick breakfast, we headed off to the port to catch our 9am ferry to Rhodes, but it looked like everyone else in Fethiye had the same idea. The boat was full of those annoying package holiday makers on a day trip to Rhodes. <br><br>After a rough ride, we bought our tickets to Athens (Rhodes to Athens &#8364;53 each, one way) and had the whole day to spend in Rhodes before our next ferry departed. <br><br>Rhodes was famous worldwide in the ancient world for the Colossus of Rhodes ...

... say we had a very easy Saturday due to some lovely hang overs! Went out for a quick dinner on sat night and went back to the room with the plan to go out later. And we didin't!<br><br>I found out that life is very *************os. Partying during the night till the sun rises and going to the beach during the day. I think I'm still tired. <br><br>I didn't want to leave on sunday and didn't want to leave my new friends, one in particular! But I know I will be back soon.

... after our early start to the day. We spent Monday exploring the famous monasteries, by catching a bus to Meteora which is the one furtherst from the town and then walking back to town. I found the first monastery - Metamorphosis, perched on a huge rock unbelievable - firstly because of the view but also because of the amazing museum with books from the 12 Century and military ...

Next we were onto Rhodes, one of the most historically significant Greek Isles. We saw the medieval old town, the Acropolis (yes, Rhodes has one too), and the site where the Colossus of Rhodes presumably stood in ancient times. We also got in a little beach time and visited a neat pottery factory.<br>

... Turkish waiters. I remembered the gauntlet of restaurants one has to endure to just walk the streets, all the shirt tugging and shouts of 'Yes please mister'. No thank you. We would stay at least one day in Rhodes.<br><br>I went for a walk and found a pension within thirty seconds. I was quite taken back by the beauty of it.
