Horse and Carriage country-Romania

... I go ask to see if we can park on their premises, no, but some guests there, Mihaela and her husband Sorin, offer us to use their bathroom. We end up drinking Romanian wine with them, dance on Andre Rieu (Petru, her father has a whole karaoke sound system with him!)! The ‘pensione’ is like a little Garden of Eden behind the gate; To all of you wanting to visit this country, stay here (I have the address)! We are invited for breakfast, are given a Romanian road ...

Oczywi ...

Dannube's delta

Ok, I am still very impressed of what I have seen there. It's really great to see how people succeded to conserve all their traditions and just to simply admire the way they're spending they're lifes ... so simple, but at the the same they are entirely satisfied and they don't wish for anything else.

On the road again

... words). But, really, I won't learn French in a few days, especially if you only speak French to me expecting that I understand exactly what you are saying. Some would simply speak French to me. I got to the point where I just replied in English what I thought they had asked. When I tried to speak numbers in French (for the banding), I was usually corrected, or it was repeated to me in English. Individually, the people at the banding camp were charming and ...

Boats revised

... morning I leave by boat for Sfantu Gheorghe. The public boat I had hoped to used may or may not be running tomorrow. The hotel staff that speaks fluent English and Romanian could only say that it may run tomorrow - it depends still. On what, no one seems to know. I did find the public boat today - but my Romanian sucks and the ticket office opens a few hours before the "maybe" departure. So I arranged private transport today - more expensive, but ...

... were, since many people seem to look at my hand to see if I am married, and seem rather shocked that I am not. On Friday, I take a boat to Sf. Gheorghe, where the Danube meets the Black Sea. This is where the banding camp is. Low on computer battery, and need to go find an electrical adaptor.

Welcome to Romania! No Bus No Boat No Train!

... fruitful...as the going price was over USD$350!!!! So...instead of complaining...I enjoyed 3 days in Tulcea with my new friends from Ireland and Romania! Chatting...going to cafes...meeting with boat captains and government officials (who wanted a "cut" of my travel "action")...and...finally...departing northwards. Aug 29--a stop in Galati overnight (a FREE stay with a shop owner I met on the street--THANK YOU SO MUCH! Her family invited me ...
