... spot to watch the sunset. Even better than the bar was Fi and Kylie's hotel room which is built into the cliff, sitting out on their patio. Even at 6pm in the evening it was hot and the sun bore in while we watched the changing sky and chatted. The next day we had all booked a sailing tour which took us to the smaller islands around Santorini. We headed back down the switchbacks to the dock and onto an old wooden ship with about ...

As we had a later lunch and most of the sites in Greece have switched to winter hours by the time we were finished there were no more sites to visit so we instead dealt with our washing and wandered about. The ticket for the acropolis that you purchase actually gives you access to about a half dozen ancient sites - and at €12 that's pretty good value, so we started our next day off with a visit to the ancient cemetery that ...

... Unfortunately it was closed with no signage at to advise if it is ever open to the public or not. Oh well, the view from here was truly spectacular. I would have loved to be able to see what it was like from the roof. We headed back south along the caldera slowly to the other side of the town for a different perspective and found an open cut quarry with the best view that I've seen in a mine. Wandering along back down the hill we came across ...

... are still more to be discovered. (You will have to ask Paul if you want any more info about that visit,.....LOL)

Went to the beach with black sand - interesting but I have to say that we are so spoilt with our beaches that anything else just does not impress.....

Time to go to Germany and catch up with the family.
