... other mountains that we have driven past the last few days that have very little vegetation on them. We had a bit of time before dinner so we took a quick look around the town. This area is known for its multitude of temples. We walked along some of the shops and then the market. The market had many stalls selling the same thing which included charms, prayer beads, and other beads. Tomorrow is when we will have time to explore the temples and surrounding ...

    5) Chikan. The town (where my hostel was) must have been gorgeous when all the building where new. They have cinema studios here and you can visit them so I had a quick look around.

Today we left Guangzhou early and took the bus out to the countryside. We passed many blocks of flats that had been built on former farming land, resulting in some very wealthy farmers who no longer need to farm. Despite driving for 2 hours the continual light grey smog filled sky of the city continued right into the countryside. The sun felt stronger in the rural areas but the sky was still not blue! Our first stop was Kaiping Diaolouin where we visited the Zili village. It was ...
