Collected prepaid tickets for the hop on hop off bus - 2 day tickets. Went downtown first, through Times Square, and fifth avenue, past Flatiron building, and Macy's department store - the largest department store in the world. ... but still had to go to the kiosk to get the official ticket. With these in hand we made our way to the boarding area where security was like airline security except we could keep our shoes on. Bags, watches, belts, etc all had to go into a plastic bin to be x-rayed and then we had to walk through the scanner. The scanners will identify any metal that had to be taken off and then rescanned. My gold bangle and pandora bracelet had to come off but the rings and ...

... at Rockafella Centre. We had lunch and then get our tickets for David Letterman. We found another great deli that was given on recommendation. It was time to line up for the show at 3.40pm for a start at 4.30pm. Very interesting and lots of fun and best of all the tickets were free. Had a great pizza for dinner made in the amish deli . Still cannot get used to it being light until 9pm..tomorrow is another day stay tuned for more ...

... which started at 5:30pm (we arrived there at 5:10pm).

As it was lovely and warm, we took a pew at the back and relaxed listening to the rehearsal and then stayed until 6:15pm when we left to head towards the Rockefeller Center.

We were a good half hour early for our ticketed time, but were allowed to go straight up. Fantastic we thought........... No lines for the lifts, and the top was virtually deserted!! However, we soon realised ...
