Headed down to Poole in Dorset to take the fast ferry to Guernsey. Another beautiful day made the drive really easy. We tried to find a Laundromat in Poole where we could drop off some laundry to pick up on our way back through. There's not a single Laundromat anywhere near the ferry terminal in Poole! And I asked at a B&B if they would do …

... rate. She survived the flight. So... The hostel. Arriving at the exact address for our advertised hostel, we came to a hotel with a completely different name - it looked okay though. A fairly rude lady checked us in, then took us over the road to another hotel, they then took us down a side alley to our dorm. Into St Peter Port today and had a stroll around the shopping area and waterfront for a couple of hours. Had lunch in a nice Italian restaurant on the waterfront, fresh caught crayfish, prawns and crab meat, absolutely beautiful.

Went to a nice pub for a short sharpie while Joseph went to Cubs and then home for dinner, a nice relaxing day.

Today we headed just about 30 miles up to the Cap de la Hague and stopped at the aire at Audervile. It is the northernmost point of the peninsula and has a very pretty little harbour with a coastguard station.

A drive around the island and a coupe of walks this morning up hill and down dale, saw an old observation post - battery built and used during the napoleonic wars. Also saw quite a few gunnery posts built by the Germans in the Second World War during the occupation.

A quiet relaxing afternoon was a pleasant relief from all the rushing around we have been doing.
