... We came back to our hotel to rest up for dinner. We were looking for a place in Oia (pronounced Ay-Ya). The woman at the front desk recommended a place in Amoudari, which is a small port that sits under Oia right on the water. Katina Taverna was GREAT. The fish was incredible and very fresh. We couldn't have asked for a better way to end the day. Tomorrow is our last day in Santorini and we're heading out on a sunset ...

... day. Santorini also gets quite busy in the summer. After some drinks and some shopping, we chose a restaurant with amazing views. Unfortunately the weather wasn't looking too good, and the wind was picking up. Cloud cover also reduced the impact of sunset. Not that it really mattered - it was incredible anyway. We were to be back on board by 8.45pm, and after a few (more) drinks....it was time for ...

... this evening as the hotel next door was preparing for a wedding, and the event was to take place right below our balcony. It was a small wedding; bride and groom and 2 others. They had a 2-person string duet which serenaded our early evening. And then we watched the quick ceremony and joined in with the celebrations, cheers and dancing - from our balcony anyway. The fog/mist was really thick now, and the sunset which has been gorgeous from our balcony was invisible. Within ...

We docked in Thira today, or Santorini as it is known by most people. Thira is the Greek name but the Italians named it Santorini, and that name stuck. Again we are the first ones off the ship around 8 am. The view is fantastic with white houses on top of the cliff as you we have seen in travel magazines, and here we are. The water around Santorini is very deep at 800 meters here, so we have to use tenders again. It ...

... you would see the sunset but a lot of these hotel are way too expensive. Its just they seem to be closer in from our hotel and around the next bend so to say and easier view of the sunset. Where we are at Andronis Boutique you cannot see the sunset which disappointing because you the only way for us to see the sunset is join the crowds to get a spot to see it. Oia is a magical spot and only well you only live once.
