... br> We found a gap in the fencing that surrounded the forecourts and kept walking around until we spotted the shop. We tried the door but it was locked even though there appeared to be people inside. We walked back a little and asked one of the security people about when/if the shop would be opening to be told that it was already open. ... Castle that was the residence of the German Emperor Wilhelm II, although he only visited Poznan three times before WW1 arrived and eventually Posen/Poznan returned to Poland. In the building now is a museum of reminders of the 1956 protests. We walk in and start to look around at old newspaper reports and photos before someone comes and tells us that the museum is not free but that we have to keep going to a reception and pay. ... br> Whilst waiting to pass through immigration Stu spots Joseph Goebbels in the queue next to us. OK, so he was never a particularly fine example of manhood but for someone who is now 117 years old and has reportedly been dead for 70 years he was looking pretty good. Reports of his Berlin suicide in 1945 were obviously pure propaganda; quite appropriate for Herr Goebbels !!!

Arrived in Poznan-easy leg of tour-only 3 hours from Berlin. Playing amazing heritage listed venue above vegan cafe-lasagne for lunch/dinner-so fulfilling. Walked into surreal double bass and dance performance. Except I thought the dancer was an old drunkard who was annoying the musician. Nope he was part of the act. seriously amazing venue. 1930s cinema. Needed a bunch more people to soak ...
