... conditions are horrendous with daytime temperatures in the mid forties and the landscape totally unforgiving. The wind is so hot off the rock and sand it is cooler to close the windows! After a morning snorkelling in the Red Sea we originally set off after a truck lunch for a four hour run to Luxor. This unfortunately turned into seven hours as we had to double back after a police checkpoint refused to allow us passage. Taking the long way round we got ...

It used to be the Germans and the British who battled over the sunbeds, but we have both been usurped by the Russians who seem to have invaded large parts of the Red Sea (they ...

... everywhere we went given that tourism numbers from those countries are down 80%. This could also be the last entry in the blog for 2-3 days as our Egypt Vodaphone data SIM (3 GB for AU$10) in the iPad will cease to work after we leave Cairo Airport and Internet access in Jordan is expensive so unless we find reliable wifi in our Bedouin Tent accommodation out in the Jordan desert our next update may even come from Munich in 6 days ...
