... them of their fruit and leaves, then put on fake leaves and plums. Also, the tree that is on Bilbo Baggins hole is made of steel and styrofoam, with fake leaves. It is worth thousands of dollars.

After hobbiton, we went to Mount Maunganui. It is not very tall, but it had the most spectacular view of the ocean all around.

To complete the day, we got a couple of bottles of wine, some beer, and ...

... but utterly terrifying. Some of the side passages used by the professional cavers look too small for one of Angela's overfed rats to negotiate! The cave we walked into seems very small and uninviting outside it. It has no fancy entrance like the big tourist hotspot up the road...and down we went. ... haka - think rugby and the all blacks. After a 10 minute lesson the guys then had to perform the haka for the girls in proper style (shirt off tongue out) and the girls performed a poi dance, After a huge dinner all 40 of us slept in the lodge after some Maori stories told by our host Ruth. It was a fantastic night and one I'll really remember, especially as it never really felt like a "show for the tourists".
