Maybe it's just us, but here in Bulgaria, we never seem to get the info we need at the start. We kind of gather it as we go along, and by the time we've finished, we know all about it. That sounds OK, but we'd enjoy it much more if we knew what we were looking at from the start.

... map, The Cathedral of the Assumption (felt we should do one church at least as there are so many) and the best iced coffee I have ever had. During which, absolutely ear splitting sirens went off and everybody stopped stock still for a couple of minutes. The waiter said it was military, so guess it was a very loud verion of 2 minutes' silence.

... has an amazing sandy beach. Very out of the way so it hasn't been developed into a resort - just a cluster of shacky cafes, and some boats. For about 9 for the two of us had a little cruise up and down to the river mouth. In the book it said there are eagles and kingfishers, but we saw 3 tortoises, a lot of swifts, a robin and a crow. Just lucky I guess! Still, it was pretty especially where the river went out to the sea. Definitely ...
