After a whistle stop tour of what felt like most of Turkey, we decided to have a few days off from sightseeing and go and sit on the beach. So we hopped on a bus and headed to Bulgaria where we planned to do not very much just north of Varna on the Black Sea coast. It was on the way to Romania (our next stop), so nice and handy.

... weekend 3-4hrs to play here because there are no golf courses in Rumania. The course was tough and in the wind very tricky. Queen Marie was a grand daughter of Queen Victoria and the wife of King Ferdinand of Romania and she built herself a small summer house with just 3 bedrooms in Balchik overlooking the Black Sea where she could be alone with her daughters. As we checked out I asked the nice receptionist, who looked to be in his 40's, how do you live here? I don't came the instant reply, I only work here. Warning any night in Sozopol between mid May and mid September may seriously damage your health (hearing!).
