28th June Bulgaria Camping Laguna beach Apparently Laguna means Nudist Beach in Bulgarian

[D] Summary of Romania's east coast is… it’s a shambles. I suppose we happened to drive head long into one of its Beach Resort town at the start of their summer holidays and also a Saturday night… So the place was packed and the music was pumping.

Varna is a pretty nondescript town. Third largest in Bulgaria, with a large port and beaches. And a history of Mafia. We went to ANOTHER archeological museum. This one is known for having the oldest collection of worked gold in the world. Otherwise, a lot of Greek and Roman things. We had lunch at a Turkish restaurant along the pedestrian promenade, then headed back for some R & R. ...

... to this and the room barely covered a quarter of one side of the main floor. The collection houses beautiful items and for the period fantastic works of art.

After leaving this room I go in search of a bigger collection. I peruse each room on the first floor and then move onto the second. Majority of the museum is dedicated to the Roman's, with most of the upper floor posters explaining Roman sites all over the world. ...

As soon as we'd had breakfast at the hotel in Burgas, we took a taxi to the west bus station. We arrived at 10.30 and noticed that the next bus directly to Veliko Tarnovo wasn't until 13.30, so we decided just to get the next bus to Varna instead. I knew that about 20 buses a day go from Varna to VT, so hopefully we could just hop on one of them soon after and then arrive back in VT early.

That wasn't to be, unfortunately - our bus arrived ...

We knew that the museums and the big Roman Thermae would be closed, as they are every Monday, so we just headed to the beach, via the old town.
