We actually could not believe how cheap this place was when we arrived, we honestly thought there must be a catch, a great pool, friendly helpful staff, gorgeous rooms with fresh flower on the bed upon arrival, huge spacious, airy rooms, absolutely spotless!! Air con, TV, fridge stocked with beer/juice, crisps/choc in the room (obviously this needs to be paid for but nothing like prices in the UK!!), amazing buffet breakfast - eggs made fresh for you and pancakes!!! Truly one of the best places we have stayed in the 9 weeks we have been travelling!! This hotel is a must for Hanoi, we paid around £10 a night for the room, crazy!! The staff organised our bus ticket right to Saigon for us!! They even came and picked us up from Denang which is about 30 mins away after a hellish night on the train!! They have a shuttle bus to take you to the town centre and to the bus/train station when you leave, the bus is free, we paid $14 USD to get picked up from Denang but by time we had gotten a bus to Hoi and and a taxi to the hotel it would have been about that and it was completely hassle free. You HAVE to stay in this hotel!!!!

Great hotel and the best buffet breakfast I have had in Vietnam. Staff excellent, very friendly. We hired a bike for $1 per day which was fun. The hotel picked us up from the bus stop which was good .

(It's) Halong Bay to Tipperary
The "transport only" booking ("bus-boat-bus") from Hanoi to Cat Ba Island in Halong Bay was not so; Sinh Cafe Travel had booked us on a "tour" of Halong Bay. As it turned out, this was not really a problem, more a portent of cock-ups yet to come.
The bus journey from Hanoi to Halong City is long (3.5 hours) and uninteresting. Our fellow …
Hoi An
Hoi-An was utter bliss, a vacation within a vacation. Fantastic retail therapy, fantastic food, fantastic accomodation, adorable sunny town on the river, fantastic people. We arrived in Hoi-an without any real expectations however I absolutely loved this town. Hoi-an is a big tourist stop and its famous for custom-made clothing and shoes, which was …
