Four days ago we arrived in Hoi An. It was the first time we took a sleeper bus and I was terrified of that because of all the terrible things people had told me about these buses - no one had mentioned the cockroaches though! Obviously I spotted them after only two minutes crawling happily across the bottom seats and into the boxes where you stick …

A travel blog entry by broust

Hoi-An was utter bliss, a vacation within a vacation. Fantastic retail therapy, fantastic food, fantastic accomodation, adorable sunny town on the river, fantastic people. We arrived in Hoi-an without any real expectations however I absolutely loved this town. Hoi-an is a big tourist stop and its famous for custom-made clothing and shoes, which was …

So here is where we had our first sleeper bus experience, and compared to this, the trains were luxury!! Me,phil, manu,Bysi, alex, sarah and james all did it together so made it more fun.

We got on this bus which was clearly made for locals (asian people are tiny) I was down one end phil was down the other end. I was in the middle on the …

    Very good

We had a great double room ensuite, very clean. The breakfast buffet was good with Western and Asien food. Staff was really helpful and organized a cheap taxi to the airport for us.
We never used the pool although it looked inviting, but the beach is just a short bikeride away.

We actually could not believe how cheap this place was when we arrived, we honestly thought there must be a catch, a great pool, friendly helpful staff, gorgeous rooms with fresh flower on the bed upon arrival, huge spacious, airy rooms, absolutely spotless!! Air con, TV, fridge stocked with beer/juice, crisps/choc in the room (obviously this needs to be paid for but nothing like prices in the UK!!), amazing buffet breakfast - eggs made fresh for you and pancakes!!! Truly one of the best places we have stayed in the 9 weeks we have been travelling!! This hotel is a must for Hanoi, we paid around £10 a night for the room, crazy!! The staff organised our bus ticket right to Saigon for us!! They even came and picked us up from Denang which is about 30 mins away after a hellish night on the train!! They have a shuttle bus to take you to the town centre and to the bus/train station when you leave, the bus is free, we paid $14 USD to get picked up from Denang but by time we had gotten a bus to Hoi and and a taxi to the hotel it would have been about that and it was completely hassle free. You HAVE to stay in this hotel!!!!
