Given the "budget" hotel room we wondered what the "budget breakfast would be like. Only a basic "continental" but not too bad. More importantly for the kids in seems, the jam selection included "Nutella" packets.
We walked down to Cardiff Bay to go to the Dr Who Experience. On the way we passed the Millennium Dome and a special place for Tristan - the waterfall sculpture that contained the 'secret' doorway to the Torchwood (a scifi TV series). After ...

As part of the tour we got to see the lavish lifestyle that the Marquess' of Brut lived - including the first flushing toilet in all of Wales apparently. We saw the Marquess' Library, in which parts of a Dr Who episode were filmed. It seems that if you watch that episode and look ...

In Pursuit of Castles in Wales

... travels through India. Cardiff was also to be the place we would start our pursuit for castles to explore.

Cardiff Castle is a fortress which gave us a good introduction to the complicated Royal history of Wales and the United Kingdom. This fortress which was originally a Roman fortress, which was then taken over by the Normans, then continued to be taken over by several families. It remains a sightseeing highlight in the centre of Cardiff, and a true example of the ...
