Not a bad day to stay firmly tied to the shore, this, given the date! We'd slept very well and enjoyed the brand new showers in the swimming pool building. Again, they’d provided washing machines, cookers, fridges etc, all virtually unused. Moreover, so far it was all free, as there had been no sign of the harbourmaster, we would try and contact him again later in the day.

By now it was well past beer o’clock so we settled in the cockpit, enjoying the sun and the shelter it afforded from the wind. ... was taken in and stowed and we motored the rest of the way. Actually, during the late afternoon the wind picked up again and I guess we could have sailed but we were now set on making our destination, anticipated around 18:00 and sailing would have meant our arrival being somewhat, maybe much, later so we left VP running ( VP = Volvo Penta = our engine make).

Leaving Day today and Mike drove us the 4 1/2 hours down to Stockholm so we could catch the plane home. We then had to catch another bus out to the airport, so it was a very long day by the time we arrived in our hostel in Edinburgh at midnight.
