... I went down a mine, saw some shire horses, had Devonshire tea, saw how a wheel is made (or used to be made, back in the day), saw the red coats go marching and saw the musket firing! (while the musket man tried to come onto me... in this case, this was seriously not a good thing...)
One of the common topics of conversation with the 'residents’ (aka actors) of Sovereign Hill was how tough it must have been to live in Ballarat, (particularly in winter) in a ...

Melbourne, Australia karenandchris... and Natalie one of the DTS students at Yham sat next to me and we got into a conversation about the fear of calling your self a Christian. I told her I always call my self a child of God.. which I am .. the miracle of birth. A small clear white bright light of an embryo forms into a child and then information is poured into the child's mind of whats going on in the environment it placed in.. many times its a distraction from God.. and when were older we get the ...
The bottom of an island, Australia carolinesheart... family owned and the wine celler and buildings are the original ones used in the 1860's. We had some samples and talked with the workers and were allowed to walk in the old cellars of the winery. The cellars were all hand dug and had some really old bottles. We then headed to the Seppelt Winery and this is the most famous of the winerys in the region. This winery was started by the other Best brother but is now owned ...

MELBOURNE, Australia carolinesheartWe were lucky to get a rental car with all the folks in town for the racing event. Put in the miles today through rolling hills, gum trees, arid farm land, wineries and lots of small towns. Our destination was Dunkeld at the southern tip of Grampians State Park. Headed into the park and did a couple of hikes, but the best was to the summit of Mt. Abrupt, the highest peak in the park. 70% of the park caught on fire in Jan 2006, but amazingly its coming back to ...

Saw giraffes, elephants, zebras - very pretty - as well as all the famous but uglier animals: hippos, rhinos, buffalo etc etc. oh and pink flamingoes, they were the nicest. scenery was also very nice... did manage to take a few photos which i'll put up now, just for kicks. After safari got back to Arusha and had that guy that I may or may not have written ...
Melbourne, Australia marieHello our dear friends so we survived the weekend of 41degrees although only just. Since last entry we have had many adventures. Tuesday night we had Cam ( a school friend of lillis) over for dinner. We cooked schnitzel. A couple of bottles of wine later we went clubbing. On a tuesday night!! We went to a place called Eve and it was fascinating. The entry stamp was of christopher Robin from Winnie the Pooh and Renee never wanted to wash it off. We show mention ...
Melbourne, Australia lillirenee... have been like in the town. It sounds a bit tacky, and to be honest it was a bit, but it was all good fun and there was enough to see to just about justify the high entrance fee. After watching a video on the history of the town and how it grew after the discovery of gold you enter the recreated town and it was pretty much how I imagined it would be. Wooden houses, dusty streets and people walking around in clothes based on the 1860's. You could take a ride in a ...
