... you stop along the way to view, the arches, rock bridges, and the twelve apostles. We ended the full day in Apollo Bay where Sara treated me for a birthday surprise at a Boutique hotel overlooking the ocean.. We dined out at a local cafe, and strolled the main street.. \ The next morning we made our way to Melbourne to make our 4:30pm flight to Auckland New Zealand.

The Great Ocean Road!

... water and white waves with cliffs is bound to be and this was no disappointment. The road itself is probably only a few hundred kms and could easily be driven in a day and everyone takes their own pace. My personal tour, as Emma as my lovely tour guide, was 3 days, 2 nights. We stopped in a few cozy seaside towns in the first day, it was all quite busy with it being the school holidays here. They all had lovely beaches and nice waves with quaint cafes ...

Melbourne and The Great Ocean Road

... you every stop we made or we'd be here all day!) was Cape Otway, which also had a lighthouse, which we nearly got blown off the top of, but had some spectacular views of the dangerous Bass Strait (where there have been lots of shipwrecks). We drove down a road where we saw loads of koalas, and nearly ran one over, but fortuantely Annabel was driving, so she missed it! That evening we went to the 12 apostles for sunset (limestone rock stacks that ...

The Great Ocean Road

... the interesting sites we've encountered on our way. Every little town we've been through had something interesting to offer: a beautiful rose garden, a charming historical downtown, a special museum, an isolated beach or just spectacular views of the weather-battered coast. We are not able to describe all the places we've stopped to (the drive to Canberra is way too short), but will do our best listing the highlights. The first interesting site we've seen on ...

Along the Road to Melbourne

... Proclaimers and Elvis for hours on end, stopping off at places of interest en-route, staying several of the nights with friends of John's conveniently scattered along the way and being wined and dined by said friends (including mighty portions of mashed spuds...yes!!!). It's the way to go! Tour guide Riley has also ensured that a selection of key Australian experiences have been included in my itinerary, such as drinking ...

Mt Arapilesta sanotaan parhaaksi kiipeilypaikaksi Ausseissa, eika suotta! Vuori oli kuin tehty kiipeiltavaksi. Hiekkakivesta ...

Great Ocean Road and my last day in Melbourne

... having a great time getting to know everyone there. After dinner, we headed out to the Pub in town (yes, there is only one) for some more drinks. What a hilarious night. I love nights like that. So many different people to talk to and locals are always excited to talk to the forgeiners who are in town. I played pool (I am horrible at it!) against Zolly and T-Bag and talked to Bob the pilot from New Mexico about his recent airshow in Melbourne ...
