After lunch in Squamish, we even went into a little fleamarket, and I was shocked when I saw a cabinet full of VHS tapes!!!! When we finally got to whistler, we still hadn't figured out where we were staying, so just drove through the village to the visitor centre. There was an accommodation desk there, so we had a chat to him and he convinced us to stay at a hotel. Not what ...

The bus will drop our group off at the top of the mountain which is about twenty mins from the hotel. The friendly staff at the park gave me a quick training course on ...

So a full days skiing today with a couple of runs from top to bottom which is a one mile vertical drop. Gary's legs hurt, Adam suggested a run! We also waited for the glass bottomed gondola which seems to have cured Adam's fear of heights and induced the same in ...

... ramping up the size and scope of the resort.
The 2010 Winter Olympics led to a lot of investment into Whistler which in the long term will be of great benefit but in the short term has caused some issues. For example the large amount of additional housing built for the games, most notably Cheakamus (10km south of the main village), has seen supply outstrip demand and caused a drop in rental incomes. Great for seasonal workers, not so great for those who bought ...
