    Today was an adventure. I took off at the perfectly calculated time for the winds to shift, and headed for an alternate route that I had planned yesterday at the library. I passed the Colorado state sign, which was exciting for me because I've never be in this state. My alt route had me cutting through the countryside and passing wheat farms and tractors.     ... look at the canyon before dark as the sun disappeared below a ridge. At the visitor center you can walk out onto a point of rock for a look into the canyon. We were stunned.     Scott and I spent the bulk of the day finalizing our walk plans in Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. Pretty spectacular place, as you can see. More intimate than the Grand Canyon - feels like you are right there and can almost reach down and touch the river - like a 3D movie.
