    ... While waiting for the bus at a cafe in Grand Junction, we were approached by a big tattooed guy who asked if we needed laundry done. He said if we needed our clothes washed, to just head down the street 2 blocks and tell the owners 'Fat *******' sent us. I'm still not sure what any of that means.

    ... and a gorge yesterday, and I think this is actually a gorge, just saying.

    Eventually a group of citizens decided that the valley could use the water from the river and they built an irrigation tunnel in 1909 to deliver water to the local farmers. When you see the depth of the gorge, you wonder how they did it. It is breathtaking. It has also been declared a wilderness area, which means that nature is in control and that humans are only visitors. ...

    Today was an adventure. I took off at the perfectly calculated time for the winds to shift, and headed for an alternate route that I had planned yesterday at the library. I passed the Colorado state sign, which was exciting for me because I've never be in this state. My alt route had me cutting through the countryside and passing wheat farms and tractors.
