I've just popped over to Malta for a day & a bit (as you do!) to say a quick hello / goodbye to my parents (and bring them lots of goodies over for the last time in a while).

The weather is a little warmer than the UK, but not as warm as it's going to be in a week's time (ha ha ha).

Anyway, I'll keep this blog short so ciao for now!

Anita x
Mellieha, Island of Malta, Malta oltona... He went on to say and I quote “Those Italian’s they are just s—t”. At that stage thought it was time to take our leave, hoping the next unsuspecting visitors waiting to get in weren’t Italians. We left port at sunset and the views over the city, with the beautiful, unusual cloud formations, made for a spectacular exit.

Sicily

Not on our list of places to return to. Grimy, full of rubbish but to be ...
Malta, Malta sewtersojourns... over the island, giving the entire ancient city of stone a golden glow. I wish I had my camera to capture the weather-beaten yellow and gray hues, because the pictures I took as the boat left the dock are overcast and doesn’t have the morning’s magical light.

We purchased tickets to the “Valetta and Malta Experience” excursion the night before and met Juju and Juma at the seventh floor Stardust ...
Valletta, Island of Malta, Malta hiwhthi... excited to meet a real live pilot before. He shook my hand and just smiled and texted one of his friends. What a change from back home. His name is Andreas and I could tell he was excited to be starting a career in aviation. I started flying about his age, too and I remember back then when flying was still fun and not a job.

I also got to sit behind an elderly couple from the US and I have no clue how they happened upon the public ...
Malta, Malta atlpilot36... come back anytime. It does help having a sister and brother-in-law here to put you up, but it's still worth the visit anyway. I am not sure if we will get invited again after they have fumigated the place following my ***** and used socks aroma hitting their nasal passages!! But, we will see. We will go to Valetta tomorrow, as that is a beautiful city, and then maybe one of the beaches after the weekend, but that's about the limits of our exercise for this week!
Birkirkara, Malta vickersontour... you, "Mr. Kilmer have you had an opportunity to see the menu? What will you be having this evening?" With no one sitting next to me (about 16 of 36 seats taken) I had plenty of room and actually slept for about 3 hours on the way over. Landing at London's Heathrow airport at about 7:00 am, I had to make my way by train to Terminal 1 to find the Central Bus Station. I would be taking a bus from Heathrow to Gatwick Airport, as my flight to Malta left the next morning from ...
Saint Julians, Malta nedkAfter checking the carousel and filing a claim Kyle and I took a taxi to the ship. We checked in and by this time it was really late, like 6 PM. So then we put our stuf down and explored the ship. E ate at the Garden Café buffet. It was amazing! It was a refreshing change to the French food and my stomach was better able to handle it. We cfound a nook on one of the top floors to watch the stars. Our room was in the very back of the ...
Valletta, Island of Malta, Malta eileen.tan... they repeatedly said they saw a lot of my young father in me. It must be surreal for them to only see me once as a child and then see me again as a grown man in the likeness of my father, with whom they shared a lot with when they were young. I could see they were so genuinely happy for me to be there, it was great. I promised them I would encourage my brothers to make the journey to Malta soon, they want to see them again so much. I also said I would come back with them when they did visit! :)
Victoria, Malta andrew.galea... married to Maltese women. One of them was a Scottish historian who loved Tasmania. He proved fascinating to talk to, about Maltese history, Scotland, and Tasmania. It was a golden encounter which I shall never forget. He tought me how to say "It's a right load a *****!". So after not twenty four but four rum and cokes and a few beers, we had had a superb night and met some interesting characters. Another great day all over. I was loving Malta.
Mdina, Malta stevea... riding in the middle of the road until we rounded the turn. Then he moved to the tiny burm and our bus almost knocked him off the road. We head a loud thud, either our bus had hit the bicyclist or he had whacked the bus in anger with his fist. I turned to mom in shock as the bus driver just kept driving, not even looking back to see if the guy was hurt. The bus was overcrowded with a group of French college students on break so two girls and an old woman ...
