... saved us a good 16 mile road walk out there.
We got to the canyon early the next day. It was stunning, quite literally. The cliffs were so large and steep that they made me dizzy just looking at them. It had been snowing on top of the canyon so there was an eerie stillness to the whole place, interrupted every now and again by a herd of mule deer walking past, or a bald eagle flying overhead,

... immediately laid all of our stuff out in the parking lot to dry and also filled the two dryers at the hotel. We soon had everything dry enough to pack back up. It is amazing how quickly nylon dries in the sun with a little wind. Diner was at the local Black Eye Pea ( yea, I didn't know they were still around) and it was very good. Tis morning found us in Fallon, NV and heading out on Highway 50 for, we thought, Delta Utah and then on to the Top of the Rockys Rally. Notice that I said "we thought". At the first gas stop on Highway 50 Greg says he has figured out why the K1100 is running so warm. ... tempted us with a #1 TripAdvisor rating so, of course, it was our travel planner duty to test the rating. Scott had a double scoop waffle cone that he says warranted its own zip cone - scoop #1 was cookie dough and scoop #2 was caramel swirl. I had the Oreo Lover's sundae that was also incredelicious and almost required a wheelbarrow to transport back to our room.
