... casts for broken bones are done. Every time we get asked to go in there it normally involves some kind of very smelly gunk in a drain so best to stay clear!

The nurses are a huge help, they do all the bloods, cannulae, put up fluids, do a quick history and do a lot of translating and they don't get half the appreciation they deserve. One of the nurses is fascinated by Clare's phone which has the BNF app on it and has asked for that as a present when we leave!

... friends with a group of monkeys. Some of the young ones were chasing each other around and one was pulling apart the new thatching on the camping huts and it's all fun and games until someone decides to steal Clare's crisps and sit on Sparky refusing to move or let anyone into the car! Eventually we did get going after checking for monkey stowaways in the boot and back seats.

... about Sparky's well-being, he does seem to have escaped with only one potentially new tiny scrape and and a very dusty covering. Our quick look over hasn't revealed any parts hanging off or leaks at least so I guess that's something. For those of you worrying about Clare's blood pressure - that wasn't a patch on what happened to her stress levels later on.

After a total of 19,000 km we have returned to Johannesberg. A City, called Place of Gold, has attracted only workers and fortune seekers since diamonds and gold were discovered in 1600's. Meeting the stereotype of a business center, JoBerg is mostly populated with an unknown number of illeagal immigrants of neighboring countries.
