Our main reason for being in Houston was to visit the Johnson Space Center (JSC). We arrived at 10am and got a spot right by the entrance, because there were not many people there. The final stop on the tour was at a building open to all NASA visitors, a huge barn where they house a once-fully-functional Saturn V rocket, built to lift an Apollo off, but never used. The ones that were used dropped off piece by piece and fell into the ocean. One of our group asked if any were ever recovered, and the answer was that no attempt has ever been made to get the parts back. ...
